Spring Arts & Music Festival

The City of Hoboken will host the 24th annual Spring Arts & Music Festival on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Due to construction along Washington Street, the festival will be held from 8th Street to 14th Street (Typically the festival is held from Observer Highway to 7th Street).

The festival features artists, crafters, photographers, food vendors, live music, and more. Admission is free. For more information or to receive an application, contact Geri Fallo at gfallo@hobokennj.gov or 201-420-2207.

Art in the Park – kids program

Art in the Park is a 6 week creative arts program for toddlers ages 4 and under. Join us for songs, story time, sensory play, and an art project, all in the shade of your local park.

There are eight 6 week sessions which take place on different days, in different parks, at different times. Choose either early morning (9am to 10:30am) or mid-morning (11am to 12:30pm) sessions:

Elysian Park on Mondays: June 19, 26, July 10, 17, 24, 31
Elysian Park on Tuesdays: June 20, 27, July 11, 18, 25, Aug 1
Pier A on Wednesdays: June 21, 28; July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2
Elysian Park on Thursdays: June 22, 29, July 13, 20, 27, Aug 3

Cost per 6 week session is $25.
Each session will accept 60 children.
Child must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
Dress child in messy clothes as clay or paints may stain clothes.

Pilsener Haus & Biergarten -Family Day

Sunday 11/27 from 1 to 4 pm

Acoustic duo, Jungle Gym Jam, is entertaining kids & families with a very interactive show featuring family oriented rock songs and rock classics.

The Jungle Gym Jam has performed at the Hoboken Arts & Music Festival over the past 3 years, in addition to Maxwell’s Tavern’s family concert series.

There is no cover charge; families are invited to partake of Pilsener Haus’ food & drink offerings.

Hoboken Ragamuffin Parade

Monday, October 31st, 3:45pm

 

The City of Hoboken annual Ragamuffin Parade and Costume Contest will be held on Monday, October 31st, 2016 at 3:45pm.

To participate in the parade, meet on Washington Street between 13th Street and 14th Street. Setup for line of march begins at 3:15pm.

The parade features local live music, floats, lots of great costumes and so much more. Wear your Halloween best!

The parade will end at the Little League Field for the Costume Contest. Prizes will be awarded in five age categories.

Washington Street will be closed and NJ Transit buses will follow a detour during the parade.

NY Jets Wide Receiver Kenbrell Thompkins to Host Free Football Camp

The City of Hoboken Department of Health & Human Services – Division of Recreation is pleased to announce the Kenbrell Thompkins Free Football Camp.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 17. Come hone your skills with Kenbrell Thompkins and his NY Jet teammates. The camp takes place on July 17, 2016 from 10:00am to 1:30pm at the Sinatra Park soccer field.

Dogs Available For Adoption!

Join Observer Park on Saturday, May 21st from 12 PM-4 PM as we host See Spot Rescued and many dogs which will be available for adoption! Find your new furry best friend and we will offer half off the initial pet fee from May 15th – June 15th if you adopt from See Spot Rescued (Kitties too!)*

We will have a silent auction, Laura Garber from the Woof Gang pet training company will be here for a demonstration, and we will also be collecting donations and blankets for the shelter (you can drop these off in the office before the event as well).
