• Fine artists are located between 2nd & 3rd Streets, 5th & 6th Streets, and artists from the Monroe Center for the Arts between First & Newark Streets, so if you are an art collector, these are the locations you will want to explore first. Oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, sculpture, mixed media, photography, etc.
• Children’s activities on 3rd Street with rides, games, creative activities, face painting, sand art, balloons, live performances and much, much more.
• Crafters display/sell handmade pottery, metalwork, wood items, furniture, blown & fused glass, quilts, household items made from recycled materials, batik clothing, hand painted furniture, candles, jewelry, dried florals, soaps & lotions and other unique handcrafted items.

Hoboken to Host Annual September 11th Memorial Service

The Hoboken community will come together to share in its annual September 11th Interfaith Memorial Service for the victims, their families, the City of Hoboken, and the entire nation.

The service will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. on the southeast corner of Hoboken’s Pier A Park. All are invited to attend.

Fifty-six Hoboken residents were lost on September 11, 2001.

Status of Hoboken 9/11 Memorial

Funding (estimated $1.47 million) is now in place for construction of Hoboken’s 9/11 memorial. Consensus has been achieved on a revised design which was necessary due to challenges with the glass panels, which were purchased in 2008 prior to the design of the memorial. A glass manufacturer has successfully demonstrated a method to strengthen the panels to make them structurally suitable for the memorial. This month, the manufacturer successfully fabricated one of the glass panels and mounted it to the steel base as a demonstration and proof of concept for how all the panels for the memorial will be fabricated and mounted. Architectural plans and bid specifications are being finalized, and then the project will be going out to bid for construction.

No Boundaries HoBOOKen 5K Training Program- Fall 2014

The Fleet Feet Sports No Boundaries 5K training program is designed for beginner runners and people who are currently inactive or minimally active. 

There’s no time like the present to get up on your feet, start moving, and become a new and improved you. This 9-week safe, fun, and non-intimidating program is designed for beginners who would like to run, run/walk or walk in a 5k race.

Along the way we provide you with motivation, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. There will be pace groups for every level of runner so, you won’t be running alone. Training will start with 1 mile and build up to 3 miles.

Running a full or half marathon this fall? Runners don’t let other runners run alone, especially on looong runs. Get all the support you need on Saturday, 8/27/16, at Fleet Feet Hoboken! We invite you to join us for our marathon and half marathon supported training run.

Run a four mile loop around Hoboken up to five times, totaling up to 20 miles for the morning. Runners can choose the number of loops they want to run (1 loop = 4 miles, 2 loops = 8 miles, 3 loops = 12 miles, 4 loops = 16 miles, 5 loops = 20 miles).
An aid station will be available, outside of Fleet Feet Hoboken with complimentary water and sports gels provided by our sponsor, PowerBar.

Julio Fernandez & Friends Performing at Sinatra Park, Aug 18, 7-9pm

Julio Fernandez and Friends will performing their yearly summer concert at Sinatra Park on Thursday August 18th from 7pm to 9pm. As a 32 year member of the Grammy nominated band, Spyro Gyra, Julio has toured all over the world but is still a big part of the local Hoboken music scene. This year he’ll be joined by some very special guests for an evening of jazz, blues, rock, and funk.
